Elephant Parade in Dana Point

Elephant Parade

My first personal experience with the Elephant Parade was in 2012 in a Belgian city called Hasselt, so as soon as I saw the Elephant Sculptures pop up around our Dana Point harbor, I knew, the Elephant Parade has come to our own backyard here in Dana Point. The 37 baby elephant sculptures will make you smile, wonder and adore. The sculptures are the actual size of a baby Asian elephant, between 4 to 6 feet long and have a serious mission – Raising awareness about the endangered Asian elephant.

This is the first time that the Elephant Parade makes it to the USA and lucky us, they decided to come to Dana Point. The Elephant Parade will be on exhibit from August 23rd through November 17th. It is the largest open-air exhibition of life sized, decorated elephant statues created by local and international artists to generate worldwide attention, awareness and support for the endangered Asian elephant. At the end of the exhibit, a number of elephants will be auctioned off to raise money for the conservation efforts.
